- The Anniversary Quilt gathers and combines squares from friends and family and transforms them into an heirloom gift to celebrate a milestone anniversary, a wedding or birthday.
- Among squares contributed are those from friends in their bridal party 50 years ago, church friends through the years, a quilting group belonged to, family vacation memories and Swedish and German heritage.
- The couple’s 9 grandchildren are highlighted in the center with larger squares, framed in rickrack, surrounded by a quilted heart border. Photo transfer, oil painting, appliqué and fabric paint were among the medium used by the children.
