Anniversary Quilt
This hand-quilted heirloom quilt is also also great for milestone birthdays, weddings & showers!
 This quilt was commissioned by a daughter for her parents’ 50th anniversary celebration. Muslin squares and instructions were sent with an invitation to participate in the project to friends and family across America, Sweden and Germany. Each square has a 6 inch work area within which each participant could write, draw, embroider, quilt or paint a greeting to the anniversary couple. Some people chose to send photos and greetings for us to transfer to squares. Completed squares were sent back over a 3 month period.
The family of paper-dolls was created to represent the couple’s immediate family, and the row of houses was created to represent each of the houses the couple had lived in over the course of their marriage.
Each square is framed individually and the quilt is latticed between the framed squares. The binding and back are blueberry fabric,, as requested by their daughter. The quilt is hand quilted in an all over design.
After being presented to the couple at a surprise 50th Anniversary party,
the quilt now hangs in the recipient's home.
All of the people who had contributed squares were invited to the party and were able to see the finished quilt with their squares sewn in.
40 or 50 years of marriage hold so many events, occasions and memories worth celebrating! An Anniversary Quilt puts those special moments and memories on display.
This quilt may also be done for weddings, bridal showers and birthdays.
